Here is an example of ultrasound image of thyroid nodules, showing how to get good ultrasound pictures. The equipment used is VINNO G80.

 

1. The probe needs to apply a certain pressure during the scanning,apply more gel to keep the probe and the skin in full contact, as to avoid the phenomenon of “leakage” on one side of the image;

     The probe is in good contact with the skin, and the overall view of the image is good.





2.Display the lesion in the center of the image.  Otherwise, you may display the lesion at a side if you scan it in longitudinal section.

3. The size of the image displayed should be appropriate, completely showing the relationship between the lesion and the surrounding tissue, but do not reduce the size of the image to be too small, as it will affect the display of the details of the lesion.


4. The gain adjustment of the image should be appropriate. From the near zone, the middle zone and the far zone, the brightness of the image should be relatively uniform. Of course, a certain attenuation is allowed in the far zone, but the common problem is that the far-field gain of many images is too over and thus affecting the quality of the entire picture.

5, The position of the focus should be placed properly, generally placed in the deep part of the lesion, both too shallow or too deep will affect the display of the details of the lesion.




6, the color Doppler Scale of different device should be set accordingly to the blood flow sensitivity. For example, for the Vinno machine, the blood flow setting of the thyroid nodules should generally be set at 5-7cm / s, Philips generally set Set at 2-3cm/s, GE needs to be set at 1cm/s. If the Scale setting is not appropriate, the low-speed blood flow signal will not be displayed.







7. The storage of dynamic images requires special attention. Through the sequential scanning from top to bottom or from left to right, the detailed information of the lesions can be obtained. In the subsequent analysis, there are details such as microcalcification and micro liquefaction. To take note, it should be noted that the acquisition of dynamic images must be sequential and orderly, rather than cluttered. Only the dynamic images acquired in this way are good and provide full details for diagnosis .
